I have really been wanting to get back to running outside, but it has been so freaking cold that I kept putting it off. Today it is in the 40’s so I knew it was my day! I’ve said it before, but running on the treadmill is SO much easier than running outside in my opinion. I wanted to run 8 miles today, but since I haven’t run outside in weeks I thought it would be too big of a jump and decided on 6 miles instead.
I still haven’t gotten my Garmin fixed and up until today the watch part at least was working, but today that was dead too. So I looked at my clock on my way out the door, it was 10:34. I factored in elevator time (my elevator is very slow) and cool down time, and decided I wanted to be home by 11:42. I did a little over 6miles throughout the city and then cooled down until I got back to my apartment. Here’s the route:
It was TOUGH. I think it was the fact that it was my first run outside in a while plus it was SO windy. I thought I was literally going to blow away. I also figured my pace was really slow because of that and I got stopped at several traffic lights throughout my run. When I got back home though it was 11:39. My cool down was at least a few minutes long, which means that my run was probably at a sub-10 minute pace! I was pretty happy with that.
Have a good week!
