I feel like I start literally every post like this, but….I had planned on waking up early to run this morning before work. Well this time I don’t even remember turning off my alarm clock. I was really bummed that I missed my run because I’ve been working later and didn’t think I would have time after work.
During lunch I decided to walk home and it was SO nice outside. I also saw a man get arrested. Gotta love St. Patrick’s Day! I decided that if I got done work at a reasonable time I would go for a run. And guess what!? I got out at a reasonable time. On my walk home I made my St. Patty’s day plans (originally the plan was to study but I have to celebrate my Irish heritage….errrr…..), then I set off for a run. It was so nice!
I pushed it hard the first 2 miles at a 9:47 and 9:48 pace. Then mile 3 I was really flying and finished in 9:27. But, mile 4 was much more tough, I was running down Walnut Street and there were people everywhere. I guess bobbing and weaving around the drunken crowds really tacks on the seconds because I finished that mile in 10:27. Mile 5 went a bit better at 10:08. Then I cooled down for a little less than a quarter mile. Overall, I’d say it was a great one!
Oh, and I was wearing a tee-shirt. In March! Amazing.
